The Bubble Factory
The Bubble Factory by Tomie dePaola is a fantasy tale about twins visiting a bubble factory where some of the bubbles have polka-dots, stripes, or even have your name on them. The children visiting the bubble factory Grandpa used to work at get into mischief when the lab door is left open. Of course, the mischief turns into something wonderful (wish bubbles) and the children are thanked and invited back to the factory. This link goes to a site with everything you can think of to do with teaching about bubbles. There are three pages of wonderful ideas and scientific information. The site is Christian based, but the bubble information could be used in public schools as well.
This link goes to a teacher’s author study about Tomie dePaola. She has a wonderful site to explore, as well.
