Book 2: ANIMALS ASLEEP by Sneed B. Collard

Animals AsleepANIMALS ASLEEP by Sneed B. Collard
This is another book that can be enjoyed more than once, and it can be read on two different levels. Each animal presented in this story has a simple fiction story sentence, and by reading only the fiction parts it could be a good-night story similar to GOOD NIGHT MOON. However, each animal is described at more length with non-fiction information. Reading the book that way would interest children even more. It is a little confusing to read it both ways in the first reading.  Read it both ways when the children are familiar with the book.

This is a multi-genre book, having fiction and non-fiction combined. Children will learn facts about animals, and how animals dream when they sleep.  Below are some printable drawing response pages for this book.  The graphics are licensed through The Graphics Factory.com.

This partially what I wrote on Amazon about the book. I realized I could write a book a day blog instead of writing on Amazon.

Happy reading children to sleep!  Carolyn
