Book 29: CHORES, Berenstain Bears Series

Berenstain Bears Trouble with Chores

Berenstain Bears Trouble with Chores

The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with CHORES

By Stan and Jan Berenstain

Spring cleaning time at your house?  Enlist the help of your children by reading this book a few days ahead of when you want them to clean their rooms or otherwise help.  Children either love or dislike the Berestain Bears, so perhaps expect a groan.  The Berenstain Bears always end up finding out their parents are correct.  There is always a moral to the story.  However, find the right moment to slip in some time for this book.  A few days later, refer to it when spring cleaning and your children may be more agreeable about doing their own chores.

Here is a great link to the Berenstain Bears online reading activities (called games) but they are educational:  http://pbskids.org/berenstainbears/games/story/index.html

See also my entry for The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes for motivating both boys and girls to be helpful around the house.

Happy spring cleaning!  Carolyn
