Math Potatoes is seventh in the series including the book Grapes of Math.  This series is intended to help children seek smarter, easier solutions, and have math insights.  The books have one problem per two-page spread, illustrated solutions in the back, and rhyming math word problems.  I always thought these would be difficult books but most problems really are solvable by young children in first grade and up.  My free items, below, are pre-reading activities with fairly simple problems to solve, like find all the ways to make 10 and add the 10s.  They are intended to be a math warm-up for reading Math Potatoes.  These books work well with CGI (Cognitive Guided Instruction) math problem solving.
