by Gail Gibbons
Recently, I have been posting about some books by Gail Gibbons as it is October and often the read alouds in primary grades include books like The Pumpkin Book, Cats, Bats, The Vegetables We Eat, Owls. Today I am writing about Spiders as it is often included in the read alouds. For each book I made at least one free work page.
Did you know Little Miss Muffet was a real person and her father was a spider expert who fed her mashed spiders when she was sick? Apparently that was a cure for the common cold about 200 years ago. This is just one of the very interesting facts in this book.
Today’s freebie does include some cartoon spiders to help lighten the mood as some sensitive children do not really like spiders, so I hope that is OK with everyone. The book is completely nonfiction. Answers for two of the questions are on the last page in the book, just a note to teachers because they could easily be overlooked. The work page does include an answer key.
