by Cynthia Amoroso and Robert B. Noyed
SPRING is typical of the dozens of children’s nonfiction story books by Cynthia Amoroso and Robert B. Noyed. Their books are easily read to children in preschool through primary grades. The facts are presented in a narrative style. There is a page of writing followed by a large and interesting photo for each two page spread. Children find the books appealing.
The authors maintain an excellent web site at: Child’s World
They have educational links for children which are ROUTINELY checked for accuracy and content, which is reassuring for parents.
What is great about these books is they have typical non-fiction text features including an index and a glossary. They have a find out more page with other titles, and a link for the book on their Web site. This book is part of their WEATHER WATCH series of books about seasons and weather. When reading to children, it is important to begin pointing out nonfiction text features for later learning and report writing.
I am linking this post to Mrs. Lirette’s Learning Detectives blog’s Spring Linky Party, too.
I made a general spring set of pages (with answer keys) that do not required this specific book to complete. Any spring story will work!
