Gail Gibbons write great non-fiction books for children.  I’m thinking of so many that we read in first grade:  Apples, Pumpkins, Bats, and on and on.  Here is her author page link:

And this is a link to an interview with the author on the Reading Rockets Site:  http://www.readingrockets.org/books/interviews/gibbons

I spent the afternoon helping my husband install a screen door (with glass windows).  A little neighbor boy was watching us and pulling his Radio Flyer wagon around.  Using tools and watching his interest, I remembered this book by Gail Gibbons.

So, try to find Gail Gibbons books if you are looking for specific non-fiction subject areas.  She has written over a hundred titles that children so enjoy.  The illustrations are engaging, colorful, and these books may be read and read again.

Happy reading, Carolyn
