Peace Bingo for the Classroom

Peace Bingo for the Classroom

This post was originally written for Hurricane Sandy to help classes have peaceful and calming thoughts after probable discussions regarding the situation.  I’m re-posting today near the one year anniversary of Sandy Hook Elementary.  This activity may be helpful for various reasons.

With recent news events,  I thought a calming activity would be nice to have on hand for the children.  The game could be played in silence to calming music, or it could be a whisper game.  Good luck and positive thoughts to everyone dealing with recent events.

  1. Jackie, I started this thinking about kids in Hurricane Sandy, and today I knew I just had to finish it. The 24/7 news is especially difficult to listen to right now. Maybe it will help some class somewhere. Thank you for your kind words. Carolyn

  2. This is a wonderful idea, Carolyn. Even if kids weren’t affected by any of the recent events, there’s a good chance that school aged kids have heard about it and seen it replayed over and over on TV. My husband was even commenting last night that it gets him down when he sees these things over and over on TV and he has to force himself to think about positive things too. This will be so helpful to some little ones to think about positive things! Great freebie.
